MEET DAVID

David Ballard, the son of Scott and Joy Ballard, grew up in Fayette County, where his family has lived for generations. After graduating Starr’s Mill High School in 2003, David attended the University of Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and a Master of Public Administration in just four years. David then attended the University of Georgia School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor in 2011. While in college, David was involved in many campus activities, including serving as president of the UGA Law Republicans and as the chair of the UGA College Republicans, which by some measures was the largest CR chapter in the United States at the time.
David began his legal career at a law firm dedicated to helping families, farmers, and small businesses struggling in the aftermath of the Great Recession. In 2014, David was blessed with the opportunity to return to Fayette County to work with his grandfather, Charles Ballard, at Ballard Law Office in the heart of historic downtown Fayetteville. David bought his first house in Peachtree City. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Peachtree City Rotary Club, served a term as President of the Fayette Bar Association, and began teaching classes at Georgia Military College. Overtime, David developed Ballard Law Office into one of the busiest litigation firms in our area. He has helped hundreds of individuals and businesses with their legal problems. He has won cases in courts ranging from small municipal courts to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Several years after returning home, David fell in love with Brittany. At the time, Brittany already had two wonderful boys from a previous marriage (Aaron and James). Aaron is a freshman at Whitewater High School, while James attends Liberty Tech Charter School where he receives special education services. David and Brittany bonded, in part, over their shared love for those with special needs as David has two autistic siblings. While vacationing in Paris, David decided he could not live the rest of his life without Brittany and her boys and proposed to her. They were married a few short months later in a small historic church in rural South Georgia. The family decided to purchase a new home in the Brooks area where Brittany grew up. In October 2020, David and Brittany were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Ballard. The family attends church at New Vision in Inman, Georgia. David Ballard loves this community with all his heart. Six generations of his ancestors are buried in its soil. If elected to serve as the representative for new Georgia House District 74, he will fight to ensure every citizen receives the attentive and effective representation they deserve. |
